Don’t Resort to a Hotel

When in the early stages of planning a vacation, an important issue that needs to be addressed is accommodation. No matter the reason or destination of your getaway, staying in a resort is always the best option. Resorts offer a variety of amenities and entertainment options for families or groups. In addition, most resorts offer all-inclusive packages so you could even be saving money in some cases.

Cold-Weather Destinations

Maybe you live in a place that has mostly warm weather year-round and are craving a change. Perhaps you want to take the family on a Christmas ski vacation. Possibly you and your spouse are just looking for a fun weekend getaway to the mountains. These are all reasons to find a ski resort that will meet your needs. Most ski resorts are located right on mountains covered in ski slopes and within walking distance to the local lodge and ski lifts. At various ski resorts the rooms are cosy and fully equipped with fireplaces, kitchens, and plenty of space. If you don’t find the time to grocery shop or cook, there is almost always at least one restaurant located in the resort. If you are with your family and not everyone is a big skier, there are other options to stay occupied. Most resorts include a pool and spa area, and can help plan other exciting excursions like ice skating or snowmobiling. There are not a lot of hotels that can be found that offer this much comfort and enjoyment.

Beachy Stops

When thinking of the word resort, most people will probably automatically picture a beach. Resorts are almost always located on the sand beside the water and offer other scenic views. Most of the best tropical resorts can be found in the Caribbean and in Asia where even locals love to visit for the weekend, such as resorts in Hua Hin, Thailand. Most beach resorts are not just for relaxing in the sun, as a lot of them are also connected to golf courses to keep avid golfers or beginners entertained as well. A lot of resorts are family-friendly and have many offerings for young children. Besides having fun pools with water slides, some resorts offer daily children’s programs where kids can participate in sports, crafts, and other fun activities. While the kids are off playing, the adults can enjoy the bar area or a couple’s massage. For family fun days, resorts offer boat rentals and you can also brave jet ski rides and other water sport options. If you are a fisherman, you can go out on an all-day fishing trip or just grab a pole and bait and venture down the beach to see if anything will bite. If staying at the resort for the duration of the trip starts to feel claustrophobic, a resort employee can assist in planning an offsite day trip to a local town or must-see destination. Resorts are always a great option for travel no matter the group that is along with you for the ride.
